Kampung Teluk Melano (or Telok Melano) is where Sarawak’s Pan Borneo Highway official begin. It is KM1 of the Pan Borneo Highway. As the word Kampung suggests, don’t expect to see any large settlement or tourist sights. There is a  beach with yellow sand and a couple of stalls selling coconuts and beverages. There are also washroom conveniences and that is pretty much it. There were some waves which could potentially support surfing sport, hopefully more will be done to promote this charming spot. Make sure you have petrol coming out this way or you may have to go all the way back to Lundu.
